About Furnace Press:

Furnace Press was co-founded in 2005 by two Brooklyn-based arts groups, Ars Subterranea and Place in History. Both organizations focus on city architecture with a view towards the obscure and neglected: urban decrepitude, industrial ruins, disjointed neighborhoods. Furnace Press is intended as a means to communicate this interest both in documentary form and through artistic interpretations.

About Our Publications:

It is our goal to publish traditional paperback books and architectural pamphlets along with limited edition items, such as artist's books and related works in other media. All items can be ordered through this website and other outlets, as listed. More information on ordering can be found here.

Submissions:

Furnace Press is interested in submissions that fit into our area of specialty. If you have a project that you would like us to consider, please send an email with your query to < info at furnacepress.com >. Please do not send any manuscripts without checking with us first.

Furnace Press Staff:

Furnace Press is run entirely by volunteers from Ars Subterranea and Place in History. The principal staff includes Katherine Gray (editor), Bryan Papciak (art director), Paul Parkhill (publisher, editor), Christos Pathiakis (editor), Elias Ragues (distribution manager), Gayle Snible (editor, publicity director), and Julia Solis (publisher, editor).
